Behind the Quiet Smile Some days, the world is moving around you. You are stuck behind a wall that nobody can see. The sun shines on the sidewalk. People are laughing. None of this gets to you. This is what happens when you have anhedonia. It is when things that used to make you happy no longer bring you that same sense of happiness. They feel dull and quiet like somebody turned down the sound on the world. The things that used to make you feel alive now just feel flat. Anhedonia is when life feels muted, like the volume has been turned down. You nod, and you laugh. You say the things that people want to hear. Deep down, it is all just an act.
